The All-New Model Year 2016 GLE SUV, GLE Coupe and GLC SUV from Mercedes-Benz at Benzel-Busch
Ever since Mercedes-Benz unveiled their all-new 2016 GLE SUV and GLE Coupe for the first-time at the 2015 New York Auto Show, car aficionados have been anxiously awaiting their in-store arrival. These two luxury vehicles officially hit the market this fall, and America’s premier car dealership, Benzel-Busch Motor Car Corp., is excited to announce they have launched these top-of-the-line vehicles at their Englewood, New Jersey location.
For nearly half of a century, Benzel-Busch has been defining the way you drive by establishing a new standard of automotive excellence. Family-owned and operated as a premium brands dealership, Benzel-Busch has maintained a reputation for honesty, integrity and trust among its many valued customers. From your very first experience, it’s evident why Benzel-Busch has been awarded the 2014 Sales and Service Laureates Award by Mercedes-Benz for excellent customer service.
The all-encompassing GLE SUV, which will replace Mercedes-Benz’s coveted ML-Class series, and the all-new GLE Coupe, not only embody the look and feel of a Mercedes-Benz, but their new attributes and technologies make them the hottest cars of their class-type currently on the market. Because of this, Benzel-Busch wants to ensure you gain as much insight as possible on these new series. Keep an additional eye out this month for the new GLC SUV replacing the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class, right in time for the holidays.
Labeled with the tagline, “Strong. Sophisticated. State-of-the-art,” by the manufacturer, the GLE SUV perfectly embodies all three of these conceptions. Within the new 2016 GLE Class, Mercedes-Benz has innovated new, standard equipment to ensure an enjoyable and safe ride every time you step into the vehicle.
“State-of-the-art and efficient drive technology, combined with superior ride quality and the versatility and robustness typical for SUVs – the new GLE has all the ingredients to continue the success story of our best-seller,” says Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz Cars, in a press release.
New features include Collision Prevention Assist Plus (a technology that can safely record and alert the driver when they become too close to the vehicle in front of them), auto-dimming side and rearview mirrors, power folding mirrors and a five-year MBrace service subscription, which allows you to select even more features for your vehicle with three new upgrade subscription packages available.
Besides high-quality safety, the GLE Class was designed with green technology in mind. Because of this, the GLE SUV releases ultralow fuel emissions. Mercedes-Benz went a step further by producing their first-ever plug-in hybrid and AMG model for the GLE SUV to ensure they help aid in maintaining a better environment. Other environment-friendly features included in the GLE SUV are 81 mph electric driving capabilities, energy recovery modes and pre-entry climate controls for warmer and colder weather.
To differentiate the class even further, Mercedes-Benz revamped the standard equipment included in their SUVs. Now, most GLE models include Crosswind Assist, double sun visors, memory powered seats, power tilt and telescoping steering columns and a brand logo projector, which will help maintain safe entry or exit from the vehicle after dark. Perhaps, however, their most groundbreaking innovation is the all-new Dynamic Select.
With Dynamic Select, drivers will be able to select five different transmission modes right from their center console. Modes include COMFORT to maintain balanced fuel-efficiency; SPORT to obtain more quick motions and suspensions often seen in sports vehicles; SLIPPERY to help uphold safe driving conditions in inclement weather; INDIVIDUAL to help drivers establish their personal preferences while driving; and OFF-ROAD for SUVs with 4MATIC capabilities to help with those off-roading adventures.
GLE SUVs also come equipped with LED taillights; new design concepts including a new radiator grill, front and end bumpers, hoods and fenders; innovative technologies such as an eight-inch command screen, advanced connectivity for smartphones with Google and Yelp assistants and a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound system, which amplifies music even more so for those long car rides. The SUV also includes multiple advanced driver assists including pre-safe modes and distronic plus, which establishes cruise control settings and steering assist.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe combines the desirable sporty nature of a coupe with the characteristics of a comfortable SUV to produce a truly one-of-a-kind vehicle. The GLE Coupe is being released as an AMG vehicle; in fact, it’s the first AMG sport model of its kind, stirring up high expectations to pave the way for more autos like it in the near future, with another second AMG version available as well.
The successful combination of an SUV and coupe is noticed in the exterior design. The front-end features a powerful radiator trim that mirrors a coupe, as well as large chrome underguard typically found on an SUV. The side design displays the sleek mix of sporty and comfort with low windows, high beltline and a dropping roofline, while the rear features two visible tailpipes and a coupe-like raked rear window for a dynamic and strong look.
The GLE Coupe seats five people comfortably in its roomy interior with a rear seat bench that is largest in its class. Under the hood is a powerful bi-turbo V6 engine that produces an impressive 362 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. Combine that with the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive for a true luxury-embodied vehicle.
The unique experience of the new GLE Coupes lies in the five transmission modes, which drivers are able to select using a rotary control on the center console. Choose SPORT or SPORT+ to activate the longitudinal and lateral dynamics of a commanding coupe. The large central display changes to a photo-realistic motorsports graphic, while the gear changes by the 9G-TRONIC produces a powerful engine sound. On the other hand, when “comfort” is selected the GLE Coupe switches to the typical smooth cruise of a Mercedes-Benz sedan producing a reduced engine sound and response to road surfaces that makes for a quieter interior. Select “slippery” for low friction circumstances such as snow and ice, and “individual” to program and store personal preferences for a real individualized experience.
Even more, when it can’t possibly get better, the GLE Coupe also offers a variety of standard or optional equipment detail and packages such as assistance systems found in the C-, E-, and S-Class to further enhance your on-road experience.
This month, Mercedes-Benz will unveil the GLK’s replacement vehicle: the all-new GLC SUV. The GLC SUV embodies impeccable safety features and state-of-the-art technology all while being aesthetically pleasing inside and out. Not only does this SUV provide more room for passengers and drivers, but the center console and dashboard have been completely remodeled.
Mercedes-Benz constructed the GLC with top-of-the-line features including a 9 Speed Dual-Clutch Transmission making this SUV the first-ever vehicle on the market to incorporate this type of mechanism. The GLC also provides drivers with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine, which can proficiently reach 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.
To elevate standards even higher, the GLC also comes equipped with the all-new Dynamic Select system, as well as premier safety features including Air Body Control, which provides stability and agility, and the Mercedes-Benz’s Intelligent Drive initiative, which includes features such as Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Attention Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and Pre-Safe Breaks.
While Mercedes-Benz incorporated superior safety features for drivers, that is not the only aspect that was completely transformed for the GLC. Mercedes-Benz aimed to create a more contemporary look and feel, especially with the GLC’s interior designs. Now, the dashboard is fashioned with open-pore trim giving the interior a refined, sleeker appearance. Drivers can also choose between a variety of Nappa leather color interiors including black, silk beige, espresso brown, saddle brown, and a new, exclusive color: platinum pearl white.
As if the GLC couldn’t be any more appealing, Mercedes-Benz announced that there will be an optional AMG sport package available for the GLC SUV as well.
