Bulgari’s All-New Eau Parfumée Au Thé Noir
Bulgari has done it again. They have crafted a perfume so incredible and unique that it is unlike anything you’ve ever smelled before. Catering to both men and women, the all-new Eau Parfumée Au Thé Noir has carried on the “art of tea” venture that Bulgari’s master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena began almost 20 years ago with the launch of their Au Thé Vert.
The Au Thé Vert was a perfume that shattered the market with its unique scent: an infusion of green tealeaves. With the Au Thé Noir, master perfumer Jacques Cavallier fashioned the scent with another type of tealeaves: Yunnan. These tealeaves are extraordinary, as they specifically grow in South West China at over 2,000 meters above ground level. According to the press release, “The gardens of the Yunnan province are legendary, and its capital, Kumming, has been called the City of Eternal Spring.”
While creating the Au Thé Noir, Cavallier’s main goal was to showcase the fragrance’s elegance and timelessness by using the Yunnan tealeaves. Other notes this perfume contains is top notes of the Damask rose, heart notes of patchouli and dry down notes of Agarwood.
“To create Eau Parfumée Au Thé Noir, I started from simple elements,” says Jacques Cavallier in a press release. “My initial idea was to create a harmonious combination of black tea with a heart of patchouli. The smoked, yet fresh flamboyance of black tea associated to the denser note, that is the heart of patchouli, radiates. The shadow and the light meet, echoing one another.”
Bulgari’s Au Thé Noir will hit the shelves in June exclusively in Neiman Marcus stores and online at NeimanMarcus.com. After its exclusive release with Neiman Marcus, Au Thé Noir will begin to sell officially in September at a retail price of around $97 per bottle.
