Chanel Hosts Fashion Show in Cuba
Just when you think Karl Lagerfeld couldn’t top any of his previous fashion shows, he shows us that he can. Lagerfeld, along with a bunch of A-listers including Gisele Bündchen and Tilda Swinton, flew to Havana, Cuba to host Chanel’s 2017 resort fashion show. It has been one of the biggest fashion events held in the country.
The fashion show was held outside so attending guests could capture the pure essence of Havana, and was held at the notable Paseo de Prado that was transformed into Chanel’s runway. The runway was filled with familiar faces including Mariacarla Boscono, Stella Tennant and Soo Joo Park. The resorts collection pays homage to the historical city with some pieces donning the bright-colored convertibles that Cuba is known for having. Models walking the “runway” also wore full-length tube dresses, wide-legged pants and other types of dresses.
The runway show was not the only extravagant aspect of the Chanel trip. Attending guests were also toured around Havana in the bright-colored convertibles and made various stops including Ernest Hemmingway’s home. Chanel’s fashion show definitely left an impression and opened the doors for many more opportunities to host big time events in Cuba.
