Founded by Simon Kim, a Michelin-star winner best known for his West Village eatery Piora, Cote has skyrocketed in popularity since opening in May. Fusing Korean BBQ with an American steakhouse, Cote offers a vast selection that includes USDA prime grade or above meats such as skirt steak, ribeye and sirloin cuts and classic Korean dishes such as bibimbap and kimchi. If you love taste-testing meat dishes, you won’t want to miss out.

Celebrity chef Scott Conant, a judge on the Food Network’s Chopped, opened Fusco, an Italian-style restaurant christened after his grandmother, in April. Located in the Flatiron/Gramercy district, Fusco is inviting and homey with a touch of elegance. Perfectly plated dishes include the tajarin (aglio e olio, clams and bonito flakes) and the duck breast (spigarello, turnips, cherries and foie gras polpettine). At first were Al Pastor, Taqueria and Cocina. Now comes a new midtown eatery, Empellón Midtown. The 8,000-square-foot restaurant oozes with personality, including bright-colored walls. What sets it apart are the dishes. Favorites include madeto-order guacamole, shishito peppers and seven salsas. To elevate your experience, order Chef Alex Stupak’s wagyu steak fajitas. The $125 plate is jam-packed with flavors and will not disappoint. Empellón even has its own tortilleria downstairs, so you know they mean business.
