The Bastille Chair from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams
Modern and stylish furniture manufacturer Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams has recently debuted the Bastille chair as a part of their spring 2015 collection. This unique chair has a 70s style stainless steel birdcage hanging from a black steel base with the choice of leather or fabric cushions for the inside of it. Unlike any other chair on the market today, this Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams chair has a contemporary, yet vintage flair and attracts customers of all ages.
The Bastille chair is definitely an eye-catching piece that is hard to ignore when you step into a Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams showroom. It has had a positive reception and has even evoked a bit of nostalgia among customers.
“We enjoy injecting a little fun into our décor and Bastille is one of those show-stopping pieces you can’t help but notice,” said Bob Williams, co-founder/president of design, in one of the company’s press releases. “For some, the chair brings back memories and is reminiscent of vintage pieces, but everyone has been having a positive reaction to it.”
Many have been seen sitting, swinging or even posing for photos in the Bastille chair, which has inspired the creation of a photo contest that would allow one lucky customer a chance to win one in a drawing on social media. The winner would receive a version of the Bastille chair that would feature a cushion made from Tibetan wool with faux suede for the seat.
