The Food and Wine Classic in Aspen
Every year, the biggest names in the world of cuisine come together in Aspen to celebrate all things food and wine. This epicurean festival is at it again once again this year for their 35th anniversary. Foodies everywhere are waiting in an excited anticipation for June 16th, when the festival begins. Speakers include Gail Simmons, a number of Top Chef winners such as Stephanie Izard (2008), Johnny Iuzzini, Tim Love, and countless more.
From knife skills to wine pairings, the demonstrations and talks at the Aspen Food and Wine Festival will cover it all. These chefs and food lovers come prepared not only for the festival, but also for the luxurious places to stay. The beautiful town of Aspen, already loved for its location in the Rocky’s is made more favorable by the luxurious places to stay such as the Aspen Meadows Resort and the Limelight Hotel.
Highlighted by its signature white tents, this festival is the star of the summer for many including Food and Wine and even some outside of the foodie community. If food isn’t your forte, dozens of luxury brands come to the festival to premiere their newest goods alongside the demonstrations in the “Grand Tasting Pavilion.” One of the biggest tips to enjoy the festival is to remember the beauty of Aspen, and to step outside of the festival into the scenic views that can be found from nature walks or hikes.
James Beard Award-winning chef Thomas Keller of The French Laundry said to Food and Wine, “The Classic is in a class by itself. You can’t compare it to other culinary events. This is it. This is the superstar. This is the place to come. If you’re going to go to one festival event, it has to be the Food and Wine Classic in Aspen.”
Though this year’s tickets have sold, next year’s Food and Wine Classic has already been planned for June 15th-17th.
