Imagine being able to travel around the world with no end destination? The MORPHotel is still only a concept, but it will “change the rules about sea trips,” according to Gianluca Santosuosso, a London-based architectural engineer. He wanted to change the concept of a cruise ship and revolutionize how people travel around the world.
His design is a hybrid of a vessel and hotel and the structure would span half a mile and have the ability to move with ocean currents. It would be held together by mechanical joints and be built around a flexible spine with attaching capsules. The MORPHotel would also be self-sustaining and powered by solar and wave energy to make guests feel like they are on a floating city. While it would have no end destination, it would still travel along the ocean and dock at various harbors around the world.
