Designer Iris Apfel wanted to solve the problem of wearables not being fashionable, so she designed a smart jewelry line that is functional and stylish. The brand features three different brass bracelets plated in 18 karat gold or palladium, each with a distress messaging feature in which wearers can tap the front in a certain pattern to forward their location along with a text message to emergency contacts customized through the mobile app. In addition to these safety features, the bracelets track the wearer’s activity and receive real-time notifications.
