Veuve Clicquot’s Rosé Turns 200!
This year, the coveted champagne brand Veuve Clicquot is celebrating a truly remarkable milestone: the 200th anniversary of Veuve Clicquot Rosé. The blend was founded by Madame Clicquot nearly two centuries ago, and has changed the way we drink ever since.
According to Veuve Clicquot, Madame Clicquot “broke the accepted norms and re-created the process of making rosé champagne.” By blending red wine grape parcels from the Bouzy region and white wines, she invented an exotic rosé champagne blend that quenched everyone’s palettes.
To honor the significant anniversary, the brand wants everyone to sip on the bubbly and has provided the perfect recipe and pairing to do so. So, what are you waiting for? See the recipes below and then get to it!
The Perfect Pairing:
In order to re-create the perfect pairing plate, you will need the following: 1/2 cup of olive oil, 1/3 cup fresh basil leaves, 1 medium shallot cut into quarters, 6 peeled and deseeded slices of cantaloupe, 6 mozzarella balls, 6 slices pr prosciutto and black pepper. When you have all of the needed ingredients, you can begin the process.
- Puree olive oil, basil and shallot in processor until chopped.
- Cut each cantaloupe wedge crosswise in half.
- Arrange melon, prosciutto and mozzarella on serving platter.
- Drizzle with basil oil and sprinkle with ground pepper.
You will need 5-6 ice cubs, 2-3 zests of lime, 4-5 edible rose petals and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé champagne to complete this desired beverage. Once you’ve gathered all the needed ingredients, simply place ice cubes in a wine glass and sprinkle with lime. Pour the Veuve Clicquot and then top with the rose petals.
