2013 Was Highlighted By Success For Rolls-Royce

It was quite a year for the makers of Ghosts, Wraiths, Phantoms and vehicles that go vroom in the night out on the Sussex Downs. Goodwood, the Rolls-Royce headquarters and assembly plant began 2013 by celebrating a decade of bespoke, timeless creation. The 10 years of unique craftsmanship are a testament to the ingenuity of the bespoke wood, leather and paint shops that can personalize your Rolls-Royce down to the very stitching and lacquer.

The marque also posted a new accomplishment for annual sales—its third consecutive year of record-breaking sales and the highest in the motor car company’s storied history.

Most exciting of all, however, may in fact be the launch of the 2014 Wraith—the most powerful and dynamic Rolls-Royce ever made—debuting last March at the Geneva International Motor Show. With a twin turbo-charged V12 engine sitting comfortably behind the deep set Pantheon grill, there’s a reason the Spirit of Ecstasy has been placed a little further forward, angled by a few determined degrees. Such details truly make driving the dramatic Wraith a profound and visceral experience. Look for HudsonMOD’s take on the bold new fastback in the first issue of 2014, as we took the Wraith on a test drive like no other out in the scrub and canyons of Arizona.
