    A Delicious Way To Celebrate Julia Child’s Legacy

    We couldn’t think of a more fitting—or filling—way to celebrate Julia Child’s 100th birthday than with a weeklong celebration at some of Manhattan’s most talked about restaurants.

    In honor of the release of Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child, Knopf Publishers is sponsoring the tasty tour that will run from August 7– 15. Over 100 restaurants across the country are expected to pay homage to the century old culinary icon with renditions of Child’s celebrated recipes and favorite dishes and we can’t wait to dig in.

    Here’s a quick rundown of nearby restaurants that will be toasting Child:

    AureolePositioned in the Time Square area, Aureole will be serving Child’s Pâté de Campagne (pork meatloaf).

    Marea – When you stop into this Upper East Side eatery be sure to order the Lobster Thermido: stuffed lobster with a cheese crust.

    Buvette  – Multiple renditions of some of Child’s fame dishes will be served at Buvette, including Coq Au Vin, braised chicken with wine and mushrooms and Poulet Rotisserie, rotisserie chicken with mayonnaise. And for dessert, hand whipped chocolate mousse.

    Jeanne and Gaston The pre-fixe menu at this Chelsea eatery includes a rendition Coq Au Vin, stuffed mushrooms au Gratin and a French custard called, Vanilla Petit Pot de Crème.

    Murals – Located on West 54th Street, Murals will be serving a medley of Child’s favorite meals including, Boeuf Braisé Prince Albert, braised beef tenderloin with foie gras and truffles.
