    There’s only one event in the world that showcases the collections, creations and innovations of the timepiece world’s elite. Thursday, March 27, Baselworld stopped time as they opened their doors and welcomed the world to the biggest and most important event of the year for the watch and jewelry industry. For the next week, Basel, Switzerland will play host to 1,460 exhibitors and 122,000 visitors from over 100 different countries around the world.

    Those fortunate enough to make the trip will experience the unique opportunity Baselworld offers to interact with the CEOs and owners of the brands in person. For some of these brands, Baselworld will be the only event in which they are showcased all year. The selections are split into two exhibits; Stones & Pears and Machine & Supply Industry. Some of the brands we’re excited to see more about this year are Bifrost Isblå by the Swedish boutique brand Gustafsson and Sjögren (GoS) and the new Rolex models in the Oyster and Cellini collections.

    For those who will not be jet-setting to Switzerland, the new Baselworld App is now available for free in the Apple App Store. This virtual app includes interactive 3D hall plans and detailed information on the exhibitors and media surrounding the event. Whether you are experiencing this event through your own eyes or through your smart phone, there’s still a week worth of luxury to watch out for.
