The best or nothing was certainly the message that Benzel-Busch Motor Car Corp. portrayed at the opening of their new state-of-the-art, 170,000 square foot, Mercedes Benz dealership in Englewood on September 12. Hundreds of guests, clients, friends and local dignitaries gathered to raise a toast to both the new showroom and the many community relationships that Benzel-Busch Motor Car Corp. continues to forge.
One of the highlights of the evening was the announcement of Benzel-Busch Motor Car Corp.’s partnership with Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA to benefit the City of Englewood Sports and Recreation Department. The initiative is part of a nationwide program that—with a $1.3 million national commitment from Mercedes-Benz USA and its dealers to Laureus—aspires to place 250 coaches in underserved neighborhoods across five U.S. cities: Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and New Orleans. In addition to contributing to the national platform, Benzel-Busch is activating this program specifically in Englewood, where the funds raised will directly support the deployment of coaches supporting hockey, volleyball and basketball programs helping hundreds of children.
“We are celebrating the opening of our new facility by thanking the local community for supporting us for more than half a century here in Englewood,” noted Joseph Agresta, Jr., President of Benzel-Busch Motor Car. “We are giving these children an alternative founded in positive role models and an active healthy lifestyle to help support their development.”
Also on hand to celebrate the night was New York Yankee legend Bernie Williams. The former outfielder and Latin Grammy nominee mingled with guests and took the stage to perform with his band as invitees enjoyed cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres.
