French jeweler Cartier opened their first pop-up shop on Saturday, October 25, at London’s high-class department store Harrods. The exhibit, which coincides with their “Year of the Man” celebration, pays homage to their 110-year anniversary of the first-ever created wristwatch.
Located on the ground floor of Harrods, the department store’s Fashion Director Helen David says, “The Man by Cartier is a curated showcase of fine timepieces and luxury accessories, which demonstrate not only the heritage of the brand, but also their innovative designs.”
The pop-up exhibition will feature a watch bar, vintage watches from various collections, signature watches such as their Ballon Bleu and Santos models, hologram displays of future endeavors, as well as Cartier concept watches and the Fine Watchmaking Collection. The newest pieces on display, however, are their Calibre de Cartier Diver watches, which include five different models.
Cartier will also have four street-side display windows along Brompton Road to showcase their watches in.
Besides displaying their watches and accessories, Cartier will be projecting their newest short-film, “Shape Your Time.” Directed by Bruno Aveillan, the short-film depicts Cartier’s evolution of watches. The short-film opens showing their vintage collections being created in a workshop, then goes on to show collections sold now, and even hints at future plans for the brand. The film will be shown in a separate section inside the pop-up exhibition away from where people will be viewing the collections.
“We are delighted to showcase the men’s universe to our customers in Harrods and convey the elegance of the Cartier man,” says Laurent Feniou, managing director at Cartier UK.
The exhibition will be showcased at Harrods until November 19.
