The fashion powerhouse, Christian Dior, has outdone itself yet again. Hosting a preview at their Midtown East boutique, the French staple for everything chic had women donning their finest furs and most prized Dior to view 2014’s pre-Fall collection. And, what better time than Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to have a rendezvous with haute couture in the most Paris-like of venues? At the boutique, trays were filled with champagne, macaroons and hors d’oeuvres, with a viewing section that included the who’s who of socialites, designers, stylists and clients.
Among the collection were many tea length skirts and dresses that were simple, sheer and black. But Dior decided to kick it up a notch. They once again proved they understand—and seemingly dictate—the fashion climate with their “street-chic,” which pairs elegant dresses with ribbed and structured leather jackets or embellished tops.
It was hard to keep from falling in love with the “She” collection shoes, with the bright hues and sporty feel. However, the highlight of the trunk show could very well have been seeing a skirt with the same craftsmanship from the Dior Couture house for the first time in a store. And yet, that feeling doesn’t even begin to describe what it felt like seeing the lady Dior bags, which were covered in cheetah and zebra for the first time!
Christian Dior will start to take orders from its collection starting in June or July. Stay tuned to HudsonMOD for more.
