New York: a city so nice, they named it twice! Godiva loves Manhattan so much that they created a delectable chocolate that pays homage to the Big Apple and other notable cities around the globe. The new, limited-edition Wonderful City Dreams collection features five chocolates, which were inspired by New York, London, Shanghai, Tokyo and Brussels. Sit back and take your tastebuds on a journey as you celebrate the city you love.
The Wonderful City Dreams collection is “inspired by the art, creativity and craftsmanship we find in the world’s most exhilarating cities,” says Chef Jean Apostolou, who imagined the London-inspired chocolate. “Multi-layered and wonderfully complex, each indulgent morsel will transport you through your taste buds, to lands where dreams really can come true.”
Available in an 18- of 9-piece gift set, the chocolates sit in a beautiful box designed by French illustrator Pénélope Bagieu. Depictions of landmarks from each city such as Big Ben, the Statue of Liberty and the Oriental Pearl Tower decorate the exterior, while the signature yellow Godiva coloring serves as the background. Once unwrapped, the chocolate delicately lay inside, awaiting to be tasted.
New York Cheesecake
Created by Chef Thierry Muret, the New York-inspired chocolate celebrates an iconic dessert: the New York Cheesecake. The outside layer features a blond caramel chocolate couverture with a green stamped image of the Statue of Liberty’s crown. When you bite into the piece, it’s filled with a cheesecake mousse mixed with biscuit crumbles. You’ll instantly fall in love with this treat, just like you did with the City that Never Sleeps.
London Fraise Violette
This white chocolate bite inspired by London will take your tastebuds for a ride — and it’s not because there’s an iconic double decker bus stamped on the outer layer! Chef Jean Apostolou’s delectable chocolate features a strawberry ganache and white chocolate mousse filling that’s infused with violet. When mixed with it’s sweet white chocolate exterior, each bite will leave you yearning for more.
Brussels Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Heart
This chocolate, which pays homage to Godiva’s home country, is in fact one of the brand’s most famous desserts. Chef Ilse Wilmot’s creation features caramelized hazelnut praline ganache and bresilenne bits wrapped in dark chocolate. It’s a classic and a favorite!
Tokyo Yuzu Orange
Chef Yannick Chevolleau imagined the delicious chocolate that celebrates Tokyo. Consumers who bite into this milk chocolate piece will taste Venezuelan chocolate ganache, orange and grapefruit notes and flavors of yuzu. Watch as the delectable flavors linger on your tongue. You’ll be reaching for another in no time.
Chef Philippe Daue was in charge of creating the Shanghai-inspired chocolate. This dessert features the beloved flavor of lychee, which is perfectly infused into a white chocolate ganache with hazelnut nibs that add a nice crunch to each bite. This flavorful mixture sits inside a dark chocolate shell, giving a stunning appearance to anyone who is about to take a bite.
The Wonderful City Dreams collection is available now at godiva.com, and retails for $20 (9-piece box) or $36 (18-piece box).
