One of Britain’s most coveted perfumeries, Floris London, has released an enchanting and rare limited-edition bottle: Islay Eau De Parfum. The fragrance, which was developed and released in collaboration with distillery Kilchoman, perfectly blends together sensual scents inspired by Kilchoman’s distillery and the island of Ismay, which lies off the coast of Scotland.
Islay Eau De Parfum is limited to only 150 bottles, making it an extremely rare fragrance for collectors. Reminiscent of Kilchoman’s tasteful whisky, Floris London infused the fragrant liquid with powering scents. Top notes of galbanum, bergamot and light smoke fuse together with base notes of musk, sandalwood and vanilla to create a feminine and masculine aroma. When heart notes of orris, patchouli, cedar wood and amber are added in, Islay Eau De Parfum becomes complete, making for the quintessential unisex perfume.
Orris, bergamot and cedar wood were the main ingredients added to Islay Eau De Parfum that were inspired by Kilchoman and its varying whisky blends. Bergamot adds a citrus component to the perfume as well as Kilchoman’s “Machir Bay” blend; orris is found in the “100% Islay” blend; and cedar wood pays homage to Kilchoman’s distillery casks. Together, all three add an extra punch to the limited-edition scent.
“The unisex scent pays homage to the flora of the romantic and isolated Islay and to the wonderful whisky that the Kilchoman family have lovingly produced on the island since 2005,” says the brand in a press release. “Inspired by the tasting notes and deep flavors of the rich amber liquor, as well as the beautiful island itself, Floris x Kilchoman is a nod to the trend for contemporary whisky drinking.”
