If you are a contemporary art enthusiast, you must have heard of Jeff Koons or his art pieces. The widely recognized figure, best known for his large balloon sculptures and “Gazing Ball” paintings, is collaborating with Louis Vuitton to combine art with fashion.
From now until July 31, Louis Vuitton has a pop-up store on Madison Avenue in New York, solely offering leather goods and accessories from this exclusive Louis Vuitton x Jeff Koons collab.
Inspired by Koons’ “Gazing Ball” paintings, the series of reimagining works by the Old Masters, the collaboration highlights re-created masterpieces by DaVinci, Titian, Rubens, Fragonard and Van Gogh.
Koons’ reproductions of masterpieces have been placed on iconic Louis Vuitton bags, like the Speedy, the Keepall and the Neverfull, in addition to other small leather goods and accessories.
The store, adorned with gold LV x JK monograms, displays enlarged prints and descriptions of the original pieces inside. On the front of the two-story glass building, double-height LED screens illuminate four show windows, honoring the Old Masters and their works.
In addition to the masterpiece elements, the Inflatable Bunny is another feature of Koons’ artwork that has been reimagined into bunny keychain for this collaboration. The collection, which will be coveted for its collectors-worthy products, is shoppable now and worth a peek next time you’re in New York City.
