Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams has long been known for their premiere home furnishings, which incorporates comfort with upscale style. On Wednesday, October 29, HudsonMOD served as the exclusive media sponsor of their 25th Anniversary celebration located at their showroom in Paramus, New Jersey. Filled with incredible shelter displays for guests to view, the event lasted from 6 to 9 p.m., and most importantly, went to benefit the Tyler Clementi Foundation.
Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams started their extraordinary furniture industry in 1989, and since then, have grown to become familiar household names. Because of their success, Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams have stores all over the United States including locations in Miami, Seattle, Ann Harbor, Nashville and many more. If 2014 wasn’t already a big enough year for the shelter duo, the two recently launched their first-ever coffee-table book titled, Who We Are, which gives readers and inside look at the brand, the company’s idea of style, as well as recipes created by Chef Sean Robinson and a foreword by actress Judith Light. Their 25th Anniversary event was yet another highlight that can be added to their list of 2014 successes.
The event was celebrated by more than 150 guests from all over the Metropolitan area. Catered by Fabulous Foods, guests were offered hors d’oeurves and desserts, and sipped on cocktails such as the “Bob on the Rocks”—a combination of Macallan Scotch and water. Madison Lee’s Cakes, located in Brooklyn, beautifully replicated a Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams’ chair from their newest collection. The replica, which was made entirely out of fondant, Rice Krispies treats (for the arms of the chair) and cake, was on display for guests to marvel at. A DJ also entertained guests with an eclectic mix of tunes played throughout the course of the night.
During the event, guests were also encouraged to participate in a raffle, which included an array of incredible prizes. Proceeds raised from ticket purchases went to benefit the Tyler Clementi Foundation, an organization that promotes “safe, inclusive and respectful social environments in homes, schools, campuses, churches and the digital world for vulnerable youth, LGBT youth and their allies.” The Clementi family attended the event to support their foundation, which was started to honor their late son Tyler, who was a victim of bullying. The foundation raffled off items such as an autographed Manchester United jersey, a gift basket from Barilla pasta, a weekend getaway in Boston and many more.
Before the raffle winners were chosen towards the end of the event, Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams addressed guests and thanked them for coming out to celebrate their anniversary with them. Sean M. Kosofsky, executive director of the Tyler Clementi Foundation, also gave a heart-filled speech to the crown about the foundation, what is means to him and the Clementi family, and their plans for future endeavors.
