The fashion world got a taste of Rebecca Minkoff’s 2013 fall collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in early February. The San Diego-born designer took fans to another world with her futuristic designs and patterns, but is now bringing them back to Earth with the launch of her “Elle” bag at Neiman Marcus Short Hill’s in-store event on Wednesday, August 14 beginning at 6pm.

The shopping experience becomes even more exciting with special appearances from Minkoff and fashion blogger Bryan Grey Yambao “BryanBoy.” The first 50 “Elle” bags—25 Elle minis and 25 Elle satchels—will also be hand-signed by Minkoff herself.

Although being surrounded by Minkoff’s must-have handbags seems like the perfect night for even the biggest fashion fans, the event gets even better on this not-so-typical Wednesday night. Guests can enjoy a live DJ, Graffiti Wall, photo booth, sips, bites and much, much more.

Minkoff has been making her name in the fashion world since 2001 when she launched a five-piece apparel line. But you can just about mark the beginning of her line’s rise up the ladder of success to the moment when her “I Love New York” tee made it onto Jay Leno and into the pages of US Weekly. In 2005, success became second nature for Minkoff with the triumphant launch of the “Morning After Bag.” Since then, her talent has garnered national and international acclaim—and a large helping of 218,573 Instagram followers.

The Rebecca Minkoff collection includes casual luxury handbags, accessories, footwear and apparel, but the industry leader is nowhere near completing her mark in the fashion world. The fall 2013 collection once again wowed fans, incorporating spacesuit-like construction details, utilitarian finishes, modern closures, wide zippers, padding and quilting.

The “sophisticated grunge” and futuristic style was not all Minkoff had up her sleeve. Her “Elle” bag, a vintage-inspired satchel, won the spotlight of her collection. The handbag was named after BryanBoy’s grandmother who Rebecca points to as a strong woman and influence.

The Elle Satchel and the Elle Mini are crafted in Italian leather, rich hair calf and detail edgy side zippers, a top-handle option and a shoulder strap. The handbag will be available in two sizes and clients can also select from black, white and scarlet—the latter an exclusive color for Neiman Marcus and CUSP that outshines the others with detailed studs for a rocker-chic influence. The satchel will be available for pre-sale through the Neiman Marcus Pinterest page through August 12.
