On Monday, August 22, HudsonMOD magazine joined notable patrons from the sports and entertainment worlds to celebrate the annual Gene Michael Celebrity Golf Classic, which took place at the prestigious Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, NJ.
Held in benefit of the Ed Lucas Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the blind and visually impaired, the golf classic encompassed a full day of luxurious happenings. The day began with rounds of golf on the country club’s championship golf course followed by lunch and drinks. After participants enjoyed playing 18-holes, guests gathered for a cocktail reception, a live auction, and the esteemed Corey Awards dinner, which paid homage to Frank Sinatra’s lifelong legacy.
During the awards ceremony, the foundation honored four notable Italian-American honorees with Corey Awards for their outstanding philanthropic efforts. This year’s recipients included Michael Mortorano, actors Tony Lo Bianco and Danny Aiello and television and sports personality Ann Liguori. Other notable guests of the night included Gene Michael, Ed Lucas, Uncle Floyd Vivino, Pat Cooper, Don Gould, Spencer Ross, Gerry Cooney, Willie Randolph, Billy Sample, artist James Fiorentino, Rick Cerone, David Cone and more.
Throughout the night, guests listened to various Frank Sinatra songs and had the opportunity to partake in the luxury auction, which was filled with luxury items such as rare sports memorabilia and a Frank Sinatra piece by James Fiorentino. Proceeds from the auction the Ed Lucas Foundation raised money for care and training of seeing eye dogs, scholarships for blind and disabled students as well as funds for medical research.
