March 14 marked an important date for whisky aficionados: the world’s oldest whisky, Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862, was opened for the first time. The opening was celebrated during a ceremony that combined rare spirits and coveted timepieces.
Hosted by Wealth Solutions and the Switzerland-based watchmaker, Louis Moniet, the partnership was established in efforts to launch a new timepiece collection called the Spirit Watches Line. The line will feature timepieces with capsules that are filled with rare alcoholic beverages inside. The first released timepiece is the Cognac Watch, which comes with the oldest cognac: 1762 Gautier. The Whisky Watch will make its official debut this April, and it will contain the Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862.
The opening ceremony took place at the H15 Boutique Hotel, a five star hotel located in Warsaw’s Historic Hall building. Many notable people attended including: Jean-Marie Schaller, founder of Louis Moniet; Charles MacLean, whisky expert; Edward Bates, spirits expert; and Wealth Solutions’ deputy presidents Michal Kowalski and Lukasz Baranowski.
The bottle of Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862 was provided by the famous British collector, Sukhinder Singh, who also owns Wealth Solutions.
